We have all heard the horror stories. Someone falls in love with a photographer because the create magical images… but they also made the couple 2 hours late to the reception and left guests hungry and frustrated. Or that time the photographer just went MIA for half the night. Or the photographer was obnoxious and highly intrusive. I don’t know any of these people, personally, but I’ve read the sensational articles on Facebook.
To set you at ease, I have some compelling reasons why I won’t be THAT photographer that ruins your whole life (and some words from others to back me up). I want to be your best wedding photographer!
Here are 5 reasons why you’ll be happy you hired me on your wedding day:
1. Easy going is the way I roll. (Sneakily.)
I’m there to record the events. As long as no one interferes with my recording of said event, all will go smoothly, and above all, you probably won’t even notice that I am there once the festivities get rolling! Liz once called me a ninja! ⚔️
2. I know weddings can be stressful.
I will reassure you 4062bajillion times over that everything will all work out. It always does. I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings and I have seen. it. all. In the end there is only one thing that matters and that’s the fact that you’re marrying your favorite forever person. The rest is just a bonus. Enjoy your day!… I’ll just be over here capturing it all for you… 🙂 Ashley agrees! ?♀️
3. I have ONE official job… But I can definitely help you with anything tricky that pops up throughout the day!
You may not know this, but something usually goes awry throughout the day at a wedding. Usually something small but all the same, it may not be what you had hoped or expected. Generally, there is only one or two people who will notice: You and me. Maybe your mom. Your planner. In the end, no one else will know that the ice sculpture didn’t show up. ;-P You have three goals on your wedding day. First, get married. Then, have fun. Most importantly, have a blast. I’ll do what I can to make your day as easy as can be and make sure that you show up to your party ON TIME. Bridget even said I was “on-point”! ?
4. I’ll create images that you (and all your family + friends) will love.
I want you to be able to re-live your wedding over and over again – so you can remember all the love that your tribe of people shared with you, all the fun that you had together, and all the memories that you made together. Kimberly even said I was able to capture the intangible spirit and happiness of their day! I mean, what more could you ask for?! ❤️I want to be your best wedding photographer!
5. I treat your family like I would treat my own.
We all have that Uncle Bob or Aunt Barb who love their camera. Do they get in the way? Sure. BUT, I’m suuuuper nice if I need to ask them to scoot over and they’re generally sorry for getting in the way… (I once had an 80yo grandmother with her little disposable camera trying to take photos from behind me…. I finally said, “Sweetheart, get right up there and grab your shot!” because we all know that they would come out dark and grainy otherwise. Grandma is probably afraid she’ll never see those damn photos if she doesn’t grab some of her own. I get it! I hope I can WOW her with what I create when it’s all said and done though!)
Do I prefer that the Uncle Bob just sits down and enjoys the whole day? Yes. But I won’t be a total jerk face and we’ll probably talk shop later in the evening. 🙂 Sometimes I find a grandma that I want to steal to be my own grandma, sometimes I hit it off with your sister and we become BFFs, and sometimes the whole family falls in love with me (and vice versa)! ?
Are you ready to have some fun?! I would love to be your photographer if you can stand having a laid back creative around for the day! 😉 Shoot me a message and let’s chat about what you have planned!
