This was such a fun Saco River portrait session that The “S” Family planned! We chatted beforehand and I was in love with what they had envisioned. When I arrived they were already set up! They had brought their bright yellow canoe and a bunch of books for a storytime. Straight out of the gate, the littlest, Opal, was a hoot! Falling in and out of the boat and running non-stop during stories and stopping long enough for a quick snuggle before taking off again. Dad spent a good chunk of time chasing her around. They also did a little craft and built paper boats which had to be tested out on the river to see how well they would float.
Soon, they all hopped into the canoe for a little paddling on the Saco River. Paper boats were used as paddles, too, and lots of splashing ensued! After, Violet dragged the boat back to shore and then we did some exploring around the park and ended with some snuggles. This was such a beautiful and fun session with all the colors and activities! Despite all of their planning, it was still very relaxed and allowed the girls to play and be themselves – and their personalities truly shined through.
The Saco River is not a location that I have ever gotten to photograph at and I really hope that this won’t be the last time I get to do something like this!
