What does Cape Arundel Inn, the ocean, and the “off-season” have in common? Well, it’s the perfect place for an intimate Kennebunkport wedding. Kate + Jeff were planning a small destination wedding for immediate family and their closest friends and wanted the perfect place for everyone to stay and to hold their ceremony and reception.
Cape Arundel Inn fit this bill perfectly. The off-season means it will be easier to find rooms (and there is a better chance you may have the entire place to yourselves).
The Inn is just around the corner from Walker Point ((former)President Bush’s family’s compound) on a small hill along a narrow winding road along the rocky coastline of Kennebunkport, Maine. This stretch of road is pretty spectacular. Many portions of the state have a similar coastline but there is no access to it so the drive along the coastline here is special.
Kate + Jeff picked some of my favorite vendors to work with. Sarah from Watershed Florals always knocks it out of the park with her floral arrangements and Bread and Roses Bakery creates such fun (and delicious) masterpieces in the dessert department.
Kennebunkport’s Cape Arundel Inn
I was in LOVE with Kate’s dress from Grace Loves Lace. *swoon* She got ready for her first look with her mom and sister and then we hopped downstairs where Jeff was patiently waiting to see his bride. They did their first look right on the front lawn on the exposed granite overlooking the water. Afterwards, we popped over to the side of the inn to do family formals and then Kate had her veil put in and warm up (because early May can be cooler than one would hope).
An intimate wedding in Kennebunkport
Their ceremony was held on the side lawn which also overlooks the ocean. Officiant Julie Draper performed a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony and I have to say that I love her energy! And I love how Kate had both of her parents walk her down to the ceremony.
Afterward, we snuck in a few super quick portraits (because we didn’t have Kate’s veil for the first round) and then promptly came back for Jeff and Kate to celebrate and to finally see the cake with their two pups replicated for the top (who inevitably could not make the trip up to Maine).
