One of the many things I love about being a photographer is the chance to explore hidden gems and unique spots throughout New England. From charming private homes to secluded parks, scenic trails, and countless summer evenings spent capturing moments along the beach, each session offers a new experience in an extraordinary place.
This particular family chose to have their portrait session on the Saco River, and we didn’t even have to leave their backyard! As we settled in for the shoot, everyone relaxed into the laid-back, natural atmosphere. We got a little muddy, which only added to the fun, and the girls couldn’t resist dancing, hugging, and playfully tackling each other in bursts of laughter. Later, they snuggled close on the dock, sharing quiet moments that spoke volumes about their bond.
Capturing these genuine moments felt like magic, and I felt lucky to be part of it all. There’s nothing like a session that’s full of laughter, love, and spontaneity—such a wonderful reminder of why I love this work so much.
Are you due for an updated family portrait? I would love to chat about your vision and help you bring it to life even if it isn’t a portrait session on the Saco River.
