I love a good coastal Maine Wedding, and the Reading Room at York Harbor Inn provides not only a beautiful space but a knockout backdrop along the north end of York Harbor Beach. I photographed this wedding as a second photographer for Caroline Rocchetta from New York one October day and I just had to share some of the images that I captured images from it!
The guys all got ready at the York Harbor Inn at the Crest building up the road from the main inn.
I love when Brian went out on the deck to read a letter from Alana. It was so sweet! <3
And check out these two cuties! They were honorary flower girl and ring bearer. Unfortuantely, they couldn’t attend the mass/ceremony, but they were there in spirit, all decked out and ready to party. Brian and Alana had the bridal party picked up at the York Harbor Inn, first the men and then the ladies, and delivered to St. Christopher’s Church just up the street, in time for the ceremony. Alana’s dad, speechless, and so happy to see his daughter on her wedding day.
The post-ceremony walk back up the aisle is always one of my most favorite images to capture at weddings. The excitement and the blur from what just occurred can always be captured in this moment.
Coastal Maine weddings have this great little perk: From the church, the bridal party hopped in the trolley and we made our way to Nubble Lighthouse to photograph Alana and Brian on the rocky coast while the wild wind and waves crashed behind them. October tends to be a little stormier than other months and the large waves and the wind in Alana’s veil made for some killer images.
Everyone hopped back in and then headed down to the Long Sands Beach for a few quick images and then we made our way back towards York Harbor Inn with one more quick stop at the Wiggly Bridge for a few more bride and groom portraits.
While cocktail hour was happening, most of the bridal party stopped in at the York Harbor Inn for some hors d’oeuvres and champagne. When it was time for their annoucement, the bridal party headed over across the street to the Reading Room and then Alana and Brian made their way over for their introduction.
Their Reading Room wedding was elegant and timeless. I love how the fireplace was filled with candles to give off a warm glow, and the tables were set with beautiful white and green arrangements as the centerpieces.
Look at the view at the Reading Room overlooking York Harbor Beach! All of Alana and Brian’s guests thoroughly enjoyed the views and many spent a good portion of the cocktail hour taking selfies and group photos of each other with the cloudy, yet beautiful, backdrop of the rocky coastline and sandy beach.
