York Maine Family Session
I met up with the “C” Family at their rental home in York Maine for a family portrait session along York’s rockier coastline overlooking the Short Sands Beach area. Sisters Kim and Kurri brought their families to Maine for a week-long vacation together in York to soak up some sun and catch up. What I especially loved about this session is everyone’s sense of adventure to get the images that they wanted and braved the rocky coastline to achieve their goal. At the end of their session they asked if I would stay and grab some candids of them all playing baseball together and literally everyone got in on the game together. It was great! I’m just thankful that they were playing with a whiffle ball and not a real one or I would have been a hurting unit! haha getting close enough to them to photograph in different angles proved risky! It was well worth it, and as the sun set, ominous clouds moved in and made for a dramatic ending to the day (as far as calm sunsets go).
York has all that Maine has to offer: Rocky coastline, sandy beaches, a cute little village/downtown, an amusement park and zoo, and a picturesque lighthouse (the Nubble Lighthouse).
