An Intimate Maine Wedding
Mollie and Rahul aren’t about the spotlight and the craziness that can ensue at a larger wedding day. Instead, they opted for what suits their personalities; a small intimate Maine wedding that included only their immediate families. They chose a beautiful Airbnb up on the West End and shared their nuptials in the living room in front of their nearest and dearest on a rainy summer day. They had a sweet, simple ceremony with some Indian traditions sprinkled in that focused on their commitment to one another and I love how their entire day was focused on them and their family. Rahul’s two nieces were honorary flower girls who did so much twirling with their beautiful deep blue Indian dresses.
Afterwards, we walked around the house and I photographed them in between downpours. We headed over to David’s in Monument Square in downtown Portland for a dinner in the private dining room. What I loved about this is there is a back dining room with a chef (David, himself, in this case) dedicated to their experience.
How will you honor your family traditions and create a wedding day that speaks to your personalities? Will you plan a small intimate Maine wedding or a large party full of dancing? I’d love to hear about what you have planned!
