I meet a lot of families who come to Maine to vacation. Many are trying to escape the hot, muggy air of the south and hope to find some reprieve in the Northeast. The C Family was not so lucky. They planned their vacation for what was probably the hottest week of the entire summer but what they got was the prettiest Ogunquit Maine sunsets. I mean, perhaps I am biased, but the varying shades of oranges, purples and blues in the cloudless sky was pretty nice to experience.
Ogunquit Maine Sunset Session
This was the sweetest little family from Florida. I felt for them. The neeeeeed to escape the heat in the south only to be followed by the heat to the Northeast corridor of the country must have been a huge bummer. They were all smart and wore cool cotton and linen clothing for their session and the boys had had their snacks ahead of time. What no one had planned on was just how sweaty the three-year-old was going to get! His hair stuck to his face and eventually looked like he had been watered down to stay cool when, in fact, he was just a hot mess. The kids were so good despite the later hour and the heat. Their mom, Sue, was the cutest with her yellow sundress and I was really digging the color choices she had planned out for her family.
Ogunquit has a great variety of terrain and backdrops for portraits. The miles of sandy beaches, grassy dunes, rivers, and one of my favorite, the rocky coastline along Ogunquit’s Marginal Way.
Can you stand the cheese in this photo??
Have you ever been to Ogunquit before and experienced the Marginal Way at sunset? Tell me about it! What was your favorite spot? Are you planning a trip to OGT? Let me know what you have planned!
