Phippsburg Maine Photographer

I was super excited to have the chance to work with the G family for many reasons. One of the daughter-in-laws contacted me as they were planning a 50th Anniversary family trip for her mother and father in-laws and they were congregating at The Stonehouse Manor in Phippsburg, Maine. First of all, what an honor. Between the 50th Anniversaries and the 90th birthday parties in 2018, I felt like I was living in party central.

Now, let me tell you. The G Family was by far the most fun to photograph that I have encountered in a long time. It felt much like I was hanging out with my own big crew of “Farkles”! It was difficult to not laugh throughout the entire session. The witty comebacks, the sarcasm, and the just plain ridiculousness totally made my whole day!

When your wife says that the shirt fits you perfectly but you are too afraid to stand tall for fear of popping some buttons…

Stonehouse Manor in Phippsburg, Maine

Stonehouse Manor is snuggled up nicely next to Popham Beach and little Silver Lake (in the background here). Just up the road is Fort Baldwin and the little point is nestled in between the Morse River and Atkins Bay. Popham Beach is a beautiful sandy beach with the fastest tides I have encountered! When it’s time to come in, be ready!

I love this image (above) and the whole series was really sweet between the declaration of love that he had for his wife of 50 years, and when I asked them to all crowd around and get suuuuper close to one another, they did it perfectly and happily and their joy to be together was not only witnessed with my own eyes but I could feel it, too. I say this like it’s a weird thing to witness (it’s not) but the way these guys did it was laughter-inducing.

No family session is complete without the fur babies.

After the formalities, we marched back up the hill to the house where toasts were given and many snacks were had. Favorites were declared and the matriarch showed everyone who the real boss is by flexing her muscles to show them she meant business. Haha! I could’ve hung out with these guys ALL DAY and never become tired of it.
