Portsmouth Family Photography Session
It snowed the most magical snow the night before this session… and provided a beautiful backdrop for some playtime outside along with good reasons to stay in their jammies, snuggle up and read some books, and bake some cookies for decorating fun!
I joined the “Y” family for a good chunk of a Saturday and watched as they built couch / blanket forts, dressed up and pretended to be superheroes, played indoor snowball fights (of the pom-pom variety), eat tons of sugar, and hang out in their little nooks where they enjoyed watching out the window or just hiding for a few minutes. The boys played with their toys and told their mom stories while watching their dad from the window as he worked to clean up the driveway’s snow. They had real snowball fights and then shared chicken noodle soup with their dad. They bounced on the couches and snuggled with mom. It was all the wonderfulness that you savor with two little boys, ages 2 and 4, before they grow up.
And, what’s even better, is that their parents weren’t too busy trying to capture these moments on their camera – instead, they lived in the moment – and allowed me to photograph them with their boys, being present and enjoying all of it…
…and now they have some fun memories in their minds and in photographs to remember and share for a lifetime.
Here are just a few of my favorites from their session:
Superheroes!
Pig pile mom!
So much sugar was consumed in the making of these cookie masterpieces!
It was like a perfect winter wonderland out in the back yard!
And who doesn’t love to GET snowblowed!
When you come inside, it is necessary to take off ALL of your clothes and jump on the bed.
Right before nap time, you pig pile dad, read some stories…
And then have a tickle torture session! <3
Big Thank You to the “Y” family for allowing me into their home for the day and having me capture all of these fun activities for the day!
What about your life, right now, do you want to always remember?
