Being a Saco Maine family photographer, one would think that I get to meet all kinds of local families that want to get their portraits captured… but the truth is that 95% of my clients are vacationers from out-of-state. That being said, I feel super lucky and honored when I am chosen by a local family! The N Family was no exception to this. From the very start of our communications, I was a fan.
Danielle contacted me as she had recently had a baby and she needed to have him photographed around his 6-month mark. She had done this for each of her other two older children, when they reached 6-months in age, so it was important to do the same for Baby Ryan. Of course, you can just photograph the baby and call it a day, but I find that to be a missed opportunity! Danielle had the whole family dressed up for the occasion and we got to work. We did a few warm-up images of the family together before we put Baby Ryan to the true test – to have his image capture, solo.
His big brother and sister were a crucial step in making this portrait happen and their help gave Baby Ryan the most curious acts to watch and keep him entertained while I snapped away at his adorable little face. I mean, seriously, look at this little ham. C U T I E. Despite the FIERCE mosquitos coming at him from every direction, he kept on smiling and making silly faces as they danced around for him.
When prepping Ryan for his mini-shoot, everyone was involved from boppy and blanket duties, to costume and styling, etc. Everyone played an important and crucial role to make sure that Ryan had his shining moment in front of the camera and that he looked his best.
Danielle recently emailed me directly and said, “Everyone, including us, absolutely loved the pictures you took this past summer at our house. Things were very crazy following that as we moved to another house in [Maine]. Ryan is now one and has changed so much so most likely we’ll be doing more family pictures this summer!”
Thank you for trusting in my abilities to capture Ryan’s 6-month milestone and all of his family together to celebrate. He’s a lucky little dude to have a loving tribe such as yours! I can’t wait to see how much he’s changed since last summer!
