Saturday mornings are the best. Saturday morning sessions are special, too. The weekends are for family time and when you get to just hang out be together. Sometimes that equates to sports practices, visiting with other family members, but much of the time, weekends are for catching up and just being together. I love to photograph families on Saturday mornings and capture this space in time. Sometimes families go out to their favorite bakery or restaurant, sometimes they make big breakfasts and watch cartoons together, and others are scrambling to sports practices or games and have me along to record the chaos.
I’ve been photographing the S Family since Fiona was 2, and since then she has had 2 more siblings added to her entourage. I truly enjoy photographing these guys as I basically follow them around as they show me their rooms, play the piano, perform the new dance routines that they have been learning, play together, and just hang out. I love capturing their interactions together and seeing how they change over the years… which is one of the main things Cheryl wants to capture with her crew because they do change so much all the time.
Saturday morning sessions are the best kind of lifestyle or documentary session. We can plan out some fun activities or nothing at all, or I can follow your family through the routines and activities that you have going on and document it like a story. Not sure what sort of activities you could plan? Do you have a grand scheme brewing in your brain and want to talk it out? Let’s chat and see if we can make it happen!
