Stonewall Farm Wedding in Keene, New Hampshire
Liz + Kevin’s book-themed Stonewall Farm wedding in Keene, New Hampshire brought on so many intense happy tears, enthusiastic dancing, and one of my favorite readings that I had never heard before and it made my heart so happy.
Their story begins in an apartment building where they both resided. They had seen each other in the hallway multiple times but had never stopped to chat until one fateful cold day when the heat went out and they both ended up in the basement to try to figure out what the problem was. SIX hours of conversation made up for all those times that they never said anything to each other before that… and in Liz’s words “We talked for six hours and haven’t stopped (well, Kevin has stopped ’cause he likes silence, but List has kept going)!
They are both avid (and I don’t use that word lightly) readers and they like to consider themselves “huge nerds”. Kevin didn’t put together a simple proposal. NO SIR! He schemed and planned a scavenger hunt for Liz that took them through Portland, Raymond and Phippsburg that eventually ended in the ocean. “It was sort of Lord of the Rings themed.” How cute is that!?
Liz contacted me last year to see if I was available and we set up a time to chat. Our phone call lasted longer than most (if not all) and I laughed and enjoyed talking with her thoroughly. I was so excited to get this job and even more when the day finally arrived! I even got to chat with her sweet “Bubbie” on the phone a handful of times throughout the year and I secretly wished she was my grandmother. Well, it wasn’t so secret because I told Liz several times how I loved chatting with Faith (aka Bubbie).
I started off in the car with my friend and assistant for the day, Des, and we headed for Keene. Our first stop was at the Fairfield Inn in Downtown Keene (so cute) where I met up with Kevin and then Liz a little later.
When you miss the elevator going down with the other groomsmen/woman… wait patiently, and then they appear again, still in the elevator completely confused as to why they didn’t make it to the lobby:
This First Look! Gah! So sweet.
And then when your brother/Man of Honor comes up to get his picture taken with you and he kisses you on the head and it breaks “the seal” and the tears never stop:
I love how Kevin and Liz mixed it up in their bridal party and had both men and women on each side:
My new favorite reading for a wedding is a bi-lingual reading of “The Little Prince” – first in French and then in English. I have always loved that story.
More people made Liz happily cry throughout the day than any bride I had ever seen. It was a mix of both laughing and crying and it was the best. Liz loves her people.
This is my favorite family portrait of Liz’s immediate family. They began the Horah with the four of them and then added in Kevin and then the rest of the guests until the entire place is filled and spiraled with each one of them.
Thank you to Liz + Kevin for selecting me to help capture their wedding day memories and I wish them a lifetime of more happy memories together! <3
