I find that many families come to Maine in search of that perfect coastal vibe – the one that screams Maine. A sunset family session near a lighthouse or a small harbor is where you find exactly this. Cape Elizabeth has a beautiful park called Fort Williams that houses the Portland Lighthouse. The Portland Lighthouse could quite possibly be the most photographed lighthouse in all the world due to the picturesque Casco Bay as its backdrop.
The B Family came up from Texas searching for that perfect place to remind them of their relaxing and adventurous vacation to Maine. Since they were already staying in the area, the first place that I thought of was Fort Williams. A lighthouse definitely screams Maine. Add in some killer colors as the sun bows down for the night adds the real magic. They were lucky to have a beautiful sky with some wispy clouds and beautiful pinks and oranges as the sun slowly set. Then, we all went and played around the park, snuggled on some benches, danced on the rocks, made funny faces, and then played on the swingset and made wishes with the dandelion seeds (AKA Wish Flowers, as my kids like to call them).
