The moment I got out of the car I was greeted by 5-year-old Danielle with THE most excitement I have ever encountered by a child before a portrait session! Not only was she excited, but she colored some pretty amazing Disney princess pictures just for me. I felt pretty special right out the gate! She is such a free-spirited child with a full zest for everything this world has to offer! I loved it. Her parents were much quieter, but that’s what we get as parents sometimes. The child that (perhaps) takes us out of our comfort zones. (My first-born is exactly that child. I’ve met every neighbor around the block thanks to her!) We did some “warm up” photographs at the playground at their rental and I learned all about their trip, thus far, and all of Danielle’s favorite things. Then we hopped in the car and drove down the street to the beach.
– We explored, danced, pranced, and rolled in the sand and all around the Footbridge Beach in Ogunquit on a very breezy late June afternoon. We watched kayakers on the river, we smelled the beach roses, we gave the dance performance of the century on the sandy shore, and we snuggled our baby sister, Molly. (By “we” I mean Danielle. The rest of us were mere spectators.) –
This series (below) is by far my favorite. Danielle’s enthusiasm and her parents delight in her performance (while Baby Molly just wonders about the entire scene) is priceless. I feel like this is such a great representation of her and her parents and I hope Danielle never loses this love for everything!
Be still my heart. This is the sweetest. She adores her baby sister. <3
The G Family was a real treat to photograph and they are the sweetest family on the block. They enjoyed some R+R (as much as any family can with a small baby and a 5-year-old!) and spent some time in the sand for the week. I hope our paths cross again because this was truly a really fun session. Are you visiting Ogunquit this summer? Make sure you are in the photographs with your family during your trip! Dates fill up quickly so if you’re considering a session send me a message and let’s chat about setting something up!
